Kiwanda Rental Home staff was wonderful, accommodating and helpful. We've rented through them for the last 4 years and have been happy every time. House is right on the beach with only a gentle slope going to the beach. We love the peacefulness of this stretch of beach and even looked at buying property nearby. The house was clean, stove/dishwasher/mircrowave are brand new and worked awesome. The new larger tv downstairs is a great addition. After a night time bonfire on the beach we came inside for a movie night with the kids. Love the views in the master. We will continue to rent this house every year. It now hosts years of memories for us. My only suggestion but not a deal breaker is newer, nicer towels for bathrooms, a small tv upstairs along with bluetooth speakers. We play musically constantly and it would be nice to already have speakers here. We just got home yesterday and we are already planning next year's trip! Until next time....

Playa Luna was absolutely perfect. The beach views are amazing and the sound of the ocean is wonderful. The home is welcoming, clean, beachy, has a roomy kitchen with beautiful pottery dishes and all the tools/supplies for cooking, comfortable beds and furniture, plenty of linens and towels, large capacity laundry, puzzles and games, and best of all right on the beach! This part of the beach is fantastic—lots room for kids to play even at high tide whether on sand or in the beach grasses. At low tide a huge sand bar emerges with puddles for exploring—our kids (and the adults) loved it. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms we had ample room for our family of seven. The spilt level set up was perfect—providing a downstairs bed and bath along with a roomy tv room where our kids could play loudly or conversely dad could watch tv in quiet. The WiFi was excellent, and although there wasn’t cell service in the house, we could get bars on the deck (for AT&T) and along the whole beach. The three upstairs bed rooms have queen beds. The downstairs bedroom has a twin over twin bunk bed and double bed. The master bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The other two bathrooms have showers. If the owners wanted to upgrade slightly I’d suggest a king bed in the master and putting the queen or a second set of bunk beds downstairs. This house is the last house in the row with a public access path to the north of the house; this was heavily utilized, but not a privacy problem at all. We would happily stay here every year.

The house was great! Location is amazing, more than enough space and perfect for our group. A few throw blankets would be nice in thre living room but overall a great space!

Bring an umbrella and rain gear because if you have it with you you won’t need it!

Can’t beat the location. Great views and quiet. I will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay. We will return if we have such an occasion again. The office staff was very helpful. We have just two suggestions. We didn't find a tea kettle or scissors. The scissors would have been helpful for opening packaging. As others have said the location is amazing. Although it rained most of the time several of us still put our toes in the water while the rest of us watched from the windows.

Great home with a nice open lay out for everyone to gather in. Fits 8 people comfortably. Look forward to staying again.

This was a great house and it has an amazing view! The rooms were comfortable and so were the beds and the open floor plan worked well with our eight guests. The only issues we had with our stay were the fact that there was no TV in the upper living area. We mentioned this deficiency to the rental agency as we left as we thought the TV had been stolen from the upstairs. The rental agency indicated that the owner does not want a TV in the upstairs living room for some reason. They also mentioned that they had been trying and trying to just get any TV placed in the house at all with the owner. Eventually the owner relented and let them place a 24 inch computer monitor In the downstairs sitting area. Unfortunately, all eight of us could not sit in this small area and watch this little TV very well. Also some of the light switches with dimmers didn’t seem to properly work. This could be a possible fire hazard and should be looked at immediately. The deck outside was great to use but it only had two deck chairs. If you have eight people at this house it makes it problematic for everyone to enjoy the deck. Maybe even a small bistro table for outside would be great in addition to more chairs. All in all it’s a great house with some of the best views on the coast line that I’ve ever seen. This is the very last house in Tierra del mar and so the view north is completely unobstructed and Completely uninhabited. Perfect for bringing a pet!

The whole place needs a total deep cleaning. We left it cleaner than we found it. There was mold in the hall bathroom shower. There was urine around the toilet floor. Base boards and blinds are covered with dust. Cobwebs were cleaned and several spiders were killed. Some pots and pans had to be cleaned before used. The blender was needed but dirty and was just left dirty. Beds were uncomfortably hard. Microwave has a light switch that was turned off not knowing it was for the microwave and we didn’t figure it out for a day. The chimney probably needs to be cleaned. There wasn’t much of a draft.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beach property. There were plenty of kitchen amenities, WiFi and other supplies! The only thing that would make the experience better would be to have a few extra spices for cooking available. O was also a little worried about the wiring and outlets. They were a bit tricky.

The house is perfect in many ways! End of the line of houses, much privacy, easy beach access, wonderful bedroom on ocean side and more! Need to upgrade the kitchen with a new dishwasher with 2 racks and some hot pads! Also get a 50-60 inch TV in the main upstairs room (over the fireplace!) and turn the downstairs cave into another bedroom! We love the house & will continue to choose it but a few upgrades are definitely past due!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- loved having a fire in the fireplace on cold, wet evenings and watching the storms gather in the distance. The house was clean and had everything we could need or want. Kiwanda Coastal Rentals were wonderful to work with as always.

We keep coming back because we love the view and the house fits our needs perfectly. It's not fancy, but it is perfect for the beach. Great for our dogs too! There were a few maintenance issues (light bulbs out etc) but you guys are always great about fixing those things well.

This is one of our favorite houses at our favorite beach. We stayed for ten days and had an amazing time. The house has a great layout and is perfect for our needs. We have stayed in this house for several years and a few things need to be addressed. I feel fortunate we have the ability to stay here and hate to complain but, we also pay a substantial amount for this time. Things that need to be fixed: Dishwasher top rack was broken and it made it difficult to load/unload. Dryer has to be ran twice to ensure proper drying Stove burner seemed to be malfunctioning

The house, La Playa Luna #175, is farthest north on a nice stretch of the Oregon coast, with a great view of the ocean. There were 8 of us in the house for 5 days. The house has a spacious master bedroom, a large common area, and three other bedrooms, with comfortable beds. I would have rated the house 5-stars (instead of 4.5 stars)except that some repairs need to be done --- burners on the stove, lights above the wet-bar sink, and rheostat light switch in the kitchen and the kitchen needs some more baking pans.

We had a great stay with an amazing view of the beach. The only thing that was wrong was the stove. The top stove stayed on high no matter what setting. The boil didn’t work. We still would definitely come back and stay.

Downstairs bed has bed bugs. On Saturday got over 10 bites from bed bugs. Ruined an otherwise good stay. Now washing all clothes brought on trip, luggage, shoes, and plush toys. Hopefully, will get a call back from Nicole to discuss. No one should stay in that house until it is professionally cleaned and no more bed bugs. My wife is doctor and confirmed it was bed bugs. She let checkout staff know on Sunday. Please contact me for follow up.

Office staff is very kind and organized. First time at this paticular house and it fit our needs very well. Clean house, on the beach with a very easy path to the ocean. Lots of towels, linens, cookware available to us. I do wish the stove top (front right) got hotter quicker. We did a crab boil and it took about 30 minutes to get it to boiling. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you!

Great house, great location, great view! Can’t wait to stay there again!
by Tom Hamilton on 2019-04-01
First of all let me say that we had a great time staying at this property. The location really cannot be beat, however, there are quite a few issues with the home and it actually feels quite run down and uncared for. The most glaring issues were the dirty, falling apart furniture (my husband actually fixed the chair upstairs while there and the white chair downstairs is a bit disgusting), the baseboard falling off of the wall in the kitchen, and the cloudy window in the main room. Once we started to use the home we also realized the towels were old and rough, not particularly pleasant to use after a shower and that the top rack of the dishwasher was not very secure (almost fell out a few times after loading it). The home is not particularly clean either (the floors were sticky and the carpet just felt old and dirty... not something you would want to walk on in bare feet). You may wonder why the 3 stars when it had all of these issues... but it comes back to the location. The location is private and perfect. The state of the house just made us all a bit sad. It COULD be an AMAZING home with just a little bit of love and care. Unfortunately we will not be back to this property unless it gets a bit of a facelift. But we will absolutely rent from Kiwanda again! They were wonderful and friendly.

Beautiful place! This was our first time renting a home. We were here with some of our children and their families. There was 8 adults and 4 grandchildren under 2. Everything was just right and it was easy to do. We cooked all our meals in the house and found everything we needed for cooking. There were even some kites left in the garage which we enjoyed and left for the next renter. We will definitely rent from Kiwanda coastal again, they were pleasant and easy to work with. We had no issues with the home so we never had to bother them with anything. Great home on the ocean and felt very private being the last house on the beach.

The star of this place is the amazing view. It is right on the beach and the last house so you feel like you have the entire beach as your own. The house itself is comfortable, has everything you need and totally functional and roomy. We were comfy and cozy. From the main bedroom you hear the waves, from the side bedrooms you hear the crickets and frogs. We loved it and wished we had booked a longer stay.

Views and beach access amazing. Kitchen stove could use updating. Took forever to boil water and heat was really inconstant. Stressful to feed a large family with a crappy stove.

Great cabin, wonderful location. Great space for multigenrational family. View of beach is perfect. Highly recommend!

Top rack on dishwasher comes apart when rack is open all the way. House could use updated oven and stovetop as both don’t seem to heat well. Otherwise great house and great stay. Thanks.

We have 5 of us that went to school and we get together 2 times a year for a get away. This was the 6 th stay at La Playa, and just booked our next 3 day get away. The house has enough room and the view is perfect. Only one thing.. and hopefully the owners will address the problem.. the stove top has no low level heat and could be dangerous if left unattended.

House and beach were great everything was there. Staff at check in made me feel like a bother she said " I am so done with this summer" I felt like we were an imposition
by Jenny Ritchey on 2018-07-31
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very well stocked and had plenty of room for our family. The space on the lower level is great for a little extra privacy. The only thing to be aware of is the beach access trail next to the house that is eye level with the master bathroom. We would definitely stay here again.

The best stay ever,at the end of the road, easy beach access , no more houses to the north and very little foot traffic on beach. Inside was really big lots of space, everything you need in the kitchen just like home. The bed in master sweet was really comfortable either new or super high quality or both, there wasn’t an indentation or someone sleeping in same spot as would usually be seen at a rental. So much more good stuff, hands down the best place we have ever stayed

Great house with perfect layout and view

We love this house! Rent it every year! There are a couple things that might be nice for updating. The back door seems to be off it's hinges and possibly on backwards. The house doesn't seem to be stocked with enough towels or paper towels. The master bath shower is almost unusable, becasuse there is no water pressure and the nozzle doesn't seem to spray enough water. There are some clogging issues in there as well as in the sink. Overall the house is great, great view and just a perfect spot on the beach. Thank you!
