Welcome to our beautiful Oceanside Garden home at Casa De Emdeko. We welcome you as ohana (family) to our tastefully renovated one-bedroom third floor suite with wrap-around lanai. Perched at the very top of the Casa, this incredible sun-filled unit boasts Mountain, Ocean and Garden views. Located at the front of the building this top floor unit sits above a flower and fern-lined fountain over looking the garden, pool and cabana toward the ocean. In the summer of 2019 Casa De Emdeko 321 has undergone major upgrades to provide our guests with modern conveniences with all-new furniture, appliances and decor while maintaining some of the 1960's retro aloha-vibe of the original 1969 construction. This unit is near parking, the main lobby and has an elevator (or stairs) to take you to the third floor. From the elevator there are four steps up to our unit. Our 736 square foot one-bedroom unit with wrap around lanai has a brand new king-size bed, all new linens a new queen-sized sofa bed in the living room with 5” memory foam mattress. On the lanai, we built a twin sized outdoor bed to sun, lounge and nap on. There's nothing like falling asleep in the afternoon with the gentle sounds of the fountain, the call of Hawaiian birds and a soft ocean breeze. This lanai can't be beat! Start your morning with a Kona Coffee on the lanai and gaze out to the ocean over the tops of the swaying palm trees. Just behind you, the sun comes pink and gold up over the soft slopes of Hualalai. Later in the day, relax, and enjoy our central AC with a Mai Tai. We love the two extra windows this unit has- it keeps the sweet flower-scented Hawaiian breeze flowing all day long! . You can stay a little cooler by cranking up the brand new ceiling fans and put on some tunes on our Bluetooth speaker, or put your feet up and catch up on a little cable TV or Netflix- complimentary to our guests. Two TVs and highspeed WiFi will let you rent your favorite movies. Keep in touch with family and friends with a little Facetime- it's just too gorgeous here not to share! Casa de Emdeko 321 is in the perfect location to spend your day relaxing by the ocean or as a base for Big Island Adventures- visiting local farmer's markets, coffee plantations and incredible beaches. Magic Sands Beach is a 5-minute drive south. Water sports, tours, snorkelling, and diving on the Big Island are world class. Visit historical sites and learn more about Hawaii's fascinating history. Take a trip to the top of Mauna Kea to watch the stars by the world's best observatories, or plan a day or overnight, or busy trip to the east side of Hawaii to Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park, sugar plantation town of Hilo, and pay a visit to where Pele sleeps to witness evidence of longest continually erupting volcano at Kilauea about a three-hour drive away. New black sand beaches formed in 2018 call to you to be discovered. Casa De Emdeko was built in 1969- and was one of the first condo buildings built near the town of Kailua-Kona. The complex is a beautiful gated u-shaped building set back from historical Ali'i Drive- the road of ancient Hawaiian Kings. You will delight in the beautiful meticulously maintained garden of mature plumeria, hibiscus, bougainvillea and palm. The Casa has two pools: a lava rock salt-water pool right next to the ocean, and a second pool surrounded by palms and bird of paradise. There is a gorgeous cabana with mid-century architecture and lava stone walls. It is reminiscent of the exotic Hawaii of times past. Three BBQs are here for guests, and tables, chairs for dining. Tiki torches are lit at night. Beyond the tiki torches and cabana- follow three steps down to the man-made sandy beach. A lava stone wall surrounds this shady palm tree area and invites you to recline with a good book or a frosty drink on one of the many loungers available to our guests. Come and watch Kona's unrivaled sunset here every night, when guests and residents gather to raise a glass and celebrate the spectacular end of another day in paradise. Kona has many cultural festivals and celebrations throughout the year that delight visitors and residents of Hawaii alike. Come visit us for Iron Man in October- but book ahead!
