We were lucky to have amazing weather and enjoyed being so close to the water. The house was slightly disappointing. We’ve stayed in multiple rentals properties managed by Kiwanda and this was by far our favorite. The house was pretty shabby. It was outdated and pretty hammered. The furniture looked like a collection of garage sell finds and the decor was slap dash at best. The bedding was decent although the beds and pillows were not great. The outdoor space was enjoyable and there was a good amount of sand toys for the kids. There were plenty of dishes in the kitchen and there seemed to be everything that we needed to cook meals. The remote batteries didn’t work so we couldn’t watch a dvd.

Generally speaking we had a very nice time and no difficulty dealing with the office. There were a few things in the house that could’ve use some updating, the fireplace didn’t seem to work, it would’ve been very nice to have a water faucet on the front side of the house. The kitchen oven also didn’t seem to be working right and would not heat up to temperature as expected. It would also be nice to have some back up options for when the garbage cans are full as there’s really no other place to go with garbage and there’s animals and birds that get into it if you leave it outside.

Wavecatcher is a quirky house and we loved it. It was wonderful having two decks where you could escape the wind! And three full bathrooms was a plus. Only concerns: the stove had some issues and the gas fireplace in master didn't work. Staying there again in October. Thanks!

As always, we had a great Memorial weekend at our rental through Kiwanda Coastal Properties. See ya next year!

We loved staying at the wave catcher. Right on the sand! King bed was very comfortable for my husband and I. The only thing we had trouble with was figuring out how to watch a movie on the TV but we did eventually. The staff was great to deal with! Will come back. Thanks Sue McInnes

Very nice stay. The house was truly in need of a renovation. It certainly was serviceable but compared to previous stays, not quite as nice as in the past. For next stay, I will contact the office directly to inquire about the available properties and get their feedback first before booking. Otherwise, what's not to like about Pacific City!!!

Location & house layout was perfect for our family. It was wonderful to be right on the beach so the kids could play & we could watch them easily. The house needs work- very dated and several appliances didn’t work well including the refrigerator which doesn’t close completely. House is for sale so the owners probably don’t want to fix much.

Loved the location and being right on the beach, with the awesome views. House had a good number of beds. The fireplace in the master and some stove top burners didn't work, could use a 2nd TV downstairs and an updated TV upstairs with smart capabilities would be nice (Netflix, etc). Overall though, great stay and loved this house!

We had a lovely time. Great having access to the beach and the house itself was a great layout for our family. Very clean and nice.

5 star view/amazing access to the beach. Well-stocked and clean. Thanks for a great long weekend!

We all loved the location. It worked pretty well for cooking a big thanksgiving dinner. Although the furniture was dated and well used, it worked well for our get together. We Will do it again! Only issue was someone’s ikea chair broke while they were simply pushing it back to get up from the table.

House was great but the house needs a few more amenities. Like more silverware and better post and pans. Location was great. Still had a great time.

The house was great for our purposes. We especially liked the location right on the beach and the views from the upstairs room and deck. The house is a bit worn and could use some deep cleaning and refresh.

Great location, beautiful views from a beach house that was perfect for our family and friends. Only downside is that the king bed in master bedroom could use a better mattress. All the other beds very comfortable. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this house.

We enjoyed having so much space and close access to the sand and water. Upper deck was great too.
by Neil Butler on 2018-08-14
The plumbing in the house needs some attention. The toilets seemed to clog frequently, the upper toilet has a part broken that would be easy and cost $2 to fix. The sinks pressure was inconsistent too. A little more care in the house keeping and simple small things like soap or rags would be great. The house is very enjoyable and a great beach house. It just needs a little care in places.

This house was fantastic. Could not have been a better location and the rental agency was so helpful. Everything went so smooth and easy, I couldn’t be happier. I will say that there was a little left to be desired for cleanliness (everything was tidy, but the place is in need of some deep cleaning in a major way).

Great location, had zero issues! Expect exactly what the pictures look like.

Location was fantastic! We were concerned that the San dune was going to block lower level view but it did not.

The view was incredible and our stay was enjoyable. There were just 2 of us and we were also looking for a future place for our extended family of 10. this feedback is an effort to make the place suitable for 10 as advertised. The space itself could easily support 10 people. There were some issues that would need to be resolved for it to work. The BBQ was a low end model, small, rusted, dirty and would not light and should be replaced. The lower deck had several rotted boards, even holes and would not safely hold more than a couple of people. There were plenty of pots and pans but silverware to only support 6 people. All of the condiments (salt, pepper etc.) had become damp and caked or were missing all together. With a modest amount of investment this could be a fabulous beach front home but, as is, is more of a seasonal use cabin.
