Great location!!! Nice house!!! Excellent getaway!!!

We were very happy with our beach rental from Kiwanda Coastal Properties. The house was very clean upon our arrival and had everything we needed to make the house "our own" for the days we were there. Since we were there for a holiday weekend and during Covid we had no plans on going anywhere and this house made it easy for us to hunker down and be comfortable. Lots of room to spread out. Beach access was close, but the dune you have to climb is fairly steep. Would be tough with little kids or elderly/physically challenged folks. Communication with the rental group was great.

This was our 4th year renting this home. It is an annual girls trip for us. Our experience is always wonderful!! We will be back next year!

It’s been 3 months or so since we vacationed. With COVID and everything else we just wanted to get away, just go to a nice place and forget the stress and everything to do with uncleanness, viruses , diseases. As we parked the truck and started waking to rotten deck stairs of rental house, we saw piles of dog waste that were left & right on the property . Big, small, fresh and two weeks old . Property receives zero landscape care so I can understand why no one goes and checks what’s there. Front porch had bunch of sand on it , 4 chairs had sand on them , one was broken and faucet to rinse your feet off as you come from the beach didn’t work. As I tried to look for ac because it was stuffy inside , I found out there is no Ac ! When I came up to open a window as I tried to open one , window was rotted out and almost fell out . I have never seen windows in this condition in my life and I am a general contractor . I came to second , third , fourth window and all were rusted and rotted out 100% on the inside and not operational . Then what do you know ! I saw a sticker posted sideways not to open windows , upstairs they had stickers that windows are broken. So no Ac , you can’t open windows , what do you do to breath? House has no central air circulation . This is $445 per day vacation home . They had a fan in the dining room . As I looked at it it was covered in black dust and strings of webs hanging down some 8 inches , I really couldn’t turn that on , that was not cleaned at least for couple years . After 6 hour drive to this rental, restroom was a first visit and that was not pleasant either. Dog hairs , human hairs on floor and towels , windows had white residue of someone cleaning with dirty rag and all seams of sink Caulking had black, orange and other old stuff that was not cleaned. I will not continue about all the details , but what really made me feel Price gouged and taken for a fool, when I called the Kiwanda Coastal Rentals to address few of my concerns Agent that was working (Saturday 4/5pm) was sarcastic with me and questioned my concerns if I really was serious. I will find her name come back and update the review . I asked her for two things only. Someone to come and pick up dog poop all over the property and bring us clean bed sheets and pillows . After she argued with me and huffed and puffed she said she will have someone over . We were there from Saturday until Monday and no one stopped by , no one called, texted or emailed about our concerns . We left the property probably in better condition that’s we found it in. Wife told All of us to take shoes off outside (she is German lol) , we washed feet from sand in a bucket and dried them with towel. The only thing I did get was email at about 10 pm on Saturday after checking in at 3:30 to sign some sort of mandatory agreement . I said to myself screw your mandatory agreement you do this before you give someone a key . I used to be a real estate broker 20 years ago , this is not something even legal . So this was not the best experience , but this was the best lesson how to avoid crooks that charge a fee of a 5 star royal retreat while giving you a run down 3 star motel , shack is 27 years old with zero repairs , upgrading , remodeling even basic amenities . Cleaning was done by a next door Neighbour kid probably. We had an amazing time at the beach , going places , we checked out a 5 star lodge Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa . Their premium rooms were $400 bucks with pools, spas, hot tubs and best food in this area . It was my fault for not reading the reviews for this place , it was said over and over by many others “dirty” “outdated” “poor customer service” this place was built at the Cheapest budget with owner giving 0 care about providing amenities or fixture that work . No BBQ, no hot tub , no deck, no view, no landscaping , no nothing , box in the middle of sand with doggy poo all over to give you company.

We had the best time! Boogie boarding was fantastic and it was just over the sand dune to the most beautiful beach in the world!! Pacific City is pure magic!

First off, the location was beautiful, right by dunes and the state park. Loved not being more in town with all the people. Kiwanda properties staff was great, friendly, everything worked smoothly with renting. The property: We looked for a house that could sleep up to 10 people, in case all the kids (in early 20s, adult-size kids) actually show up. Well, they did. The house is way too small for 10 people. One of the kids opted to sleep on the couch rather than share the small double upstairs. The couch is not a sleeper couch. We have no idea where an 11th person would sleep. The description says up to 11 persons. The bathrooms are tiny. 10 people for 2 nights was pushing it. Also, we had to hunt for towels. The bathrooms were stocked with 3 each. We were not sure where to hang the wet towels. The windows don't open, opening cranks are literally broken off or rusted through. The window in the kitchen was about 1/2 inch open and could not be closed. It was chilly so everyone had a coat. It was hard to find room to hang (sometimes wet) coats for 10 people. The sheets in one bedroom were too small for the bed. There was no hairdryer, although the listing said there should be one. The first aid kit is empty. The table only sits 6. Very tight with 10 people. Once the kids left it was fine. We were 6 people the last 2 nights and that felt like the right amount for this house. That being said we were glad to have so many beds for the price tag. Would be nice to have: an iron

While we enjoyed our family time together and the location we were very dissatisfied w the condition. Dirty glasses, outdoor door mat probably 5 years old wore out, living area tv did not work, marketed 3 doubles in common space that were 3 singles, bedroom 3 marketed 2 doubles that was 1 double and one single, overall dated / out of date. Throw rugs and wall to wall carpets were spotted and dirty. Almost felt like we had to clean before enjoying the space. While it accommodated us we wouldn’t plan to return.

Our stay in Pacific City was a rejuvenating way to wrap up our holidays. The proximity of the house to the beach provides excellent access. The dune that separates the house from the beach requires climbing both coming and going but if that isn't possible due to mobility issues, there is vehicular access directly onto the beach a few houses away. The first night the baseboard heat cooked us like an oven but once they were all adjusted, the rest of our stay was comfortable. The home is older and shows its age, but its affordability and location make that easy to overlook. Our families used all the beds and consensus was that new, higher quality bedding is in order. The synthetic sheets and covers were thin and smooth from wear. The bed in the main floor room (that looks onto the dune) was quite comfortable. The shower pressure was powerful in the main floor bathroom. There's no coffee grinder so bring ground coffee for the coffee maker. The rental management company contacted us the first night via text to confirm that all was well; the connection was appreciated. We would stay here again. PS: Doryland Pizza in Pacific City was excellent (especially The Mediterranean).

Perfect house. Will stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were comfortable for our family. We had three families, including four young children, and the layout of the house was perfect. The only problem we had were the windows, but we were able to open enough to get a wonderful ocean breeze going through the house. We had brought a couple of small fans, and they were helpful. The highlight of our week was the Dory Days parade going by right at the end of the driveway. The beach there is awesome!

I really like this company. They are really responsive and flexible. I would highly recommend them.

What a perfect spot for 2 families to spend the weekend. We will be back!

The access to the beach was amazing. Seperate from this, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The upstairs toilet was so loud, it would wake up the kids sleeping in the next room every time it was flushed. Many windows could not be opened due to rust and many did not have screens. The Stove also gave us some issues but we were able to get it working. its a great location and has a lot of potential but the price tag didnt seem to match other properties we have stayed at in the past

Nice house but bad beds. We couldnt sleep they were so uncomfortable. It made for a not very restful retreat. One mattress was made in 1984!
by Katie Woolsey on 2019-03-31
No bells or whistles here. Adequate but very bare bones rental. Furniture is uncomfortable and worn down (beds, chairs, and couches) and the appliances are dated. But I love that it’s pet friendly and on the beach!
by Mica Lesch on 2019-03-28
We enjoyed our stay! The house is in a great location! The beach access is over a small dune, so uphill both ways. The house was well supplied, though no casserole dish or blender. (just in case you need) The kitchen and furniture could use some updating. We noticed that the kitchen sink and main floor bathroom shower faucet leak when you turn them on. The outside faucet was not on, so we had no way to rinse off our feet after coming off the beach, the foot brush was nice, but doesn't do the job well enough. Had deer passing by the back windows to the front daily, which we enjoyed watching.
by Andrea Chiller on 2019-01-04
The house was wonderful - spacious and cozy at the same time, with a very well-stocked kitchen. The view out of the large windows in the living and dining room was amazing. Our only minor quibble was that the listing said it had cable, but it wasn't working. We booked the house over New Year's Eve and were looking for a house with cable so we could watch the ball drop and we weren't able to.
