FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Air Conditioning: No central air, but there is a AC unit in loft

Main Floor Bathroom—sink, toilet, shower
Beach/Swimming: Spring-fed lake, so it is VERY clear. The water layout goes grass then water. It is a sandy/boulder bottom. Once past the dock, lake could get murky depending on weather, so water shoes are something you might want to bring

Bedroom #2 main floor: 2 Twins
Bedroom =Loft: 2 Queen & 2 Twin
Boats: 1 Jon Boat with oars and a kayak for guest to enjoy. Various sized life jackets are available for guests to use. We can not allow guests to bring their own boats since this is a private lake and there is not any public access.

The closest full-size grocery store can be found in either direction-- Northeast, toward Marquette, you'll find the Jubilee IGA about 45 minutes in Ishpeming. Heading south, you'll find a Walmart about a hour from the cabin.
Internet: YES, however this is mobile hotspot, and can be spotty depending upon the weather therefore we cannot guarantee it will always be working. This is ideal for light Internet use, and not for streaming or gaming of any kind.
Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.
Parking: Plenty of parking for 3-4 cars and a trailer!
Pets: Pets are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

“This is a very secluded beautiful home. Cell service is hit or miss with any provider. Tv truly only has 3 channels so should bring dvds for rainy days. WiFi is limited and not strong enough for streaming from Netflix or anything like that. Lake is quiet and stocked with all kinds of fish. Neighbors are around but didn’t see any except one at the trash bins. Would have loved a raft out in the lake for older kids to swim to. Swimming was possible but have to have floats to get out where you aren’t near some bigger rocks. Was a bit difficult to spend too much time swimming. Great to have the kayak and John boat to use. Explored the lake with them, had a blast. If you plan to sight see prepare to spend some time in the car. House is at minimum 1 hour from local attractions. Average 2 hours. House was as described, sleeps 10 people easily. Seating indoors was a bit short for the 10 but there are sufficient # of seats outside for 10. Overall this was a great stay! Very relaxing and quiet. Had an amazing time! ”
Jeni, thank you for this honest review. It is important for our guests to realize that this property really allows them to get away from it all. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again.

Beautiful cottage... quiet and peaceful. The loons singing on the lake throughout the day was the best part.
The loons are the best, aren't they! We're so glad that you had a good vacation at Sundog Lake Cottage, Brian, and we hope to see you again.

Peace and quiet-Very remote and a great place to find some peace and quiet
One of the best things about Sundog Lake Cottage is how remote it is - you can literally, and figuratively, get away from it all. We hope that you feel renewed as you re-enter your everyday life!

We were SO Excited...-We were SO excited to have the opportunity to stay at this location with our family -- and in every aspect, the hosts met or exceeded expectations. We were by no means lacking during any part of our stay! Instructions seemed clear so there were no surprises. The property and home offered so many options for activities. We loved being able to walk directly down to the lake and spend time relaxing + making memories. The value is absolutely incredible for all that is included, especially compared to lesser properties we'd seen for rent in similar types of areas. We were very comfortable and would love to make it a tradition to stay at Sundog again. Beautiful cabin and even more gorgeous view! Highly recommended.
